Travel Resources

Wondering what travel resources I use to search for flights or book hotel rooms? Curious about what tools I use to run this site? I’ve tried out lots of different travel websites and resources. This is a collection of the best travel resources when it comes to transportation, accommodation and more.

Finding Cheap Flights
momondo — This is one of my favorite search sites. Momondo’s flight search is great because you get results sorted either by ticket or by timetable, and they also show you which flights are cheapest and which are quickest. Great design and easy to use.

SKYSCANNER — I often turn to Skyscanner when I’m looking for flight options. It searches a TON of airlines, and I’ve found some great deals using it (especially when looking for flights within Europe).

KIWI – This is one of the fastest-growing companies in the world. You have offline access to your boarding passes, notifications to help you on your way, and Price Alerts to grab the best deals. Kiwi.com protects you from flight cancellations, delays, and rescheduling. They will offer you an alternative flight to your destination or refund the affected part of your journey.

Finding Accommodation
AIRBNB – It’s no surprise that I love this booking site. It’s my first choice when I travel and I’ve rented an apartment over a dozen times (I can’t remember the last time I stayed in a hotel). Click here to get $25 credit toward your first booking.

HOTELSCOMBINED – Over the years, I have become a big fan of Hotelscombined. The world’s largest hotel search engine that combines all hotel deals from the best travel sites into one free, quick and easy search. Genius!

BOOKING.COM — Great resource and booking site for cheap hotels and other accommodation. I like their easy to use interface too, wide selection.

COUCHSURFING – Want to meet people and not spend anything on accommodation? Check out Couchsurfing! It actually takes a bit of time, luck, and flexibility to find someone to host you but it’s possible.

Excursions and Guides

GET YOUR GUIDE – Book tours, attractions, and activities on the world’s largest online platform. The best selection and the lowest prices.

TAXI
UBER – find better ways for cities to move, work, and thrive. Download the app and get a ride in minutes. Or become a driver and earn money on your schedule.. Get the first ride for free, use Uber promo code.

TAXIFY – I really love this app, very easy to use, just a good opinion about this company. Taxify is the fastest growing transport technology company in Europe & Africa with more than 2.5 million customers in 18 countries. Get the first ride for free, use the Taxify discount code.

Car Renting
Rentalcars.com – this is the world’s biggest online car rental service, which I use as well. Working with leading suppliers, we offer great prices on all car groups, including luxury cars, people carriers, minivans, and automatic cars. You can find you the best rental prices whenever you want – wherever you go.

Transportation
Rome 2 Rio – This website allows you to see how to get from point A to point B the best and cheapest way possible. Just enter your departure and arrival destinations and it will give you all the bus, train, plane, or boat routes that can get you there as well as how much they cost.

Blogging Resources
BLUEHOST – Excellent, quality web hosting for a low price. Bluehost has an easy-to-use interface, one-click WordPress installation, very helpful (and easy-to-get-hold-of) customer service, and rates as low as $3.49 per month.

XE.COM Exchange Rates
XE.com is a great site for easily checking current exchange rates. I use it very often to check any currency exchange rates.

DEBIT cards for travelers
Free Debit card by Revolut, N26 or Transferwise, with no fees? Sounds too good to be true, but believe or not, this exists already for years. This should help protect your pocket. All these 3 cards are great choices for international travelers.
